Importing a street trend from Trinidad these ex-pats are making their prepubescent dreams come true and putting your system to shame. Powered by car batteries and an insatiable urge to drop jaws the teens from Queens load up their bikes with fifteen inch bass speakers, multiple mid-range speakers, amps, lights, even LCD screens and roll through the neighborhood on weekends taking turns bumping their Ipods. The New York Times interviewed one biker in particular, eighteen year old Nick Ragbir, and quoted him describing his set up: “This one puts out 5,000 watts and cost about $4,000″ Madness! My bass amp, as in bass guitar, pushes 300 watts and I don’t think I’ve ever had to turn the volume past six and I wear ear plugs when I remember to. These guys are literally shattering windows from blocks away. So rad! Of course my mental image has them playing a bunch of M.I.A. Is that racist, passe, or both?

Things To consider while dressing.

I am new , my name is Anthony.
Really really love these two new drawings for the most wondrous artist Kime Buzzelli. Just in case you don’t know, Kime runs the epic LA shop Show Pony, and if I lived in the city I’d probably go by at least a few times a week to check out all the the rad shit she keeps in stock not to mention ogle the amazing works of art rotating in and out of there with each new installation. Anyway, check out more of Kime’s work and keep yourself inspired by reading her incredible blog, The Moldy Doily. If you hadn’t guessed by all the posts I do on them, I get really stoked on supremely perfect magazine editorials and so does Kime and a lot of her work is reflective of some of her favorite ed’s which just makes me dig her even more.

The new issue of Purple has surfaced! As excited as I always am when Jalouse lands on my doorstep each month, I am even more so with the twice yearly issues of Purple. This being the Fall/Winter issue it should coincide nicely with the launch of their New York offices and Fashion Week.
Anyway, this issue yields the editorial I am most stoked to see which is Dash wearing looks from the Fall collections (expect to also see his old lady, child and some family as well). Seeing him in womens clothing is not shocking but the way Oliver runs that magazine I am sure it will be all class and I can’t wait til this is readily available. You’ll probably find this in my Verte tote all throughout Fashion Week because it will make a perfect read while killing time in between shows.

I totally love that Vogue Italia have managed to pull off a photoshoot in a cemetery and avoid the usual goth mentality that is normally seen in such shots. Of course this may have been because the cover and accompanying editorial are paying tribute to the late Yves Saint Laurent and while he did design many many amazing clothes, lets face it, goth was never really his thing anyway.
